Who We Are

Terek and Richelle have owned Journey Gymnastics since July of 2015. They have a great passion for gymnastics and the Georgetown community. They are parents of 6-year-old Ben and 2-year-old Blake. Terek has been coaching gymnastics for the last 19 years. He competed himself for several years during high school and college, and he has been coaching at the competitive level for 13 years. When he is not coaching, he enjoys CrossFit and Obstacle Races.

Richelle has been an office manager and bookkeeper since 2004. She enjoys reading, crafting and DIY projects. Richelle and Terek were married just down the road at the Heritage Oaks clubhouse and have been married for 7 years.

Sheryl is a retired teacher of 30 years who couldn’t tear herself away from the children. She is a former gymnast and is happy to be back in the gym, even if it is just to answer the phone. She is a graduate of Texas A&M University. She lives here in Georgetown, is married, and has two grown daughters. She enjoys traveling, reading and DIY projects.

Alison is bit of a renaissance gal. She is our head Ninja Zone coach, but also coaches gymnastics, gives swim instruction, directs our camps, and drives our van! She has been church youth leader, worship leader, toured the US with a Christian rock band, and coached softball, soccer and basketball. Besides music and kids, Alison also loves hiking/camping, video games, and graphic design. She is always up for new challenges! Alison is a graduate of the University of Mary Hardin Baylor, is married, and currently lives in Pflugerville.

Gymnastics is Scottie’s passion and always will be. She competed in artistic gymnastics up to level 8 and then finished her career in Acrobatic Gymnastics. As an Acrobatic gymnast she achieved her goal of becoming Elite, was a member of the Junior Olympic National Team, and was named to Team USA. She competed internationally and represented the US in Poland. After retiring her competition leotards she started coaching. Scottie loves coaching kids of any age and level. It’s the happiest feeling for her to know that she helped a child achieve their goals. As a coach she knows she is not only teaching gymnastics skills to kids but also being role model who is there to teach life lessons as well. Gymnastics taught her respect, determination, responsibility, team work, and discipline. As a coach she wishes to pass along these same life skills to her athletes. When Scottie is not in the gym she is busy doing DIY projects around the house, or working on choreography for future gymnast’s routines.

Reece is a junior in high school and is always up for an adventure. He loves being active whether it’s playing a game of football, baseball, or just taking a run. He is passionate about the outdoors and spends much of his time hunting and fishing. As much fun as he likes to have, he believes in God above all and puts him first in his life. He is always up for a challenge and with his outgoing personality loves being around people. His positive enthusiasm and energy helps to make him an awesome Ninja coach.

Tina was a competitive gymnast for 6 years under the direction of Coach Terek. Coach Tina enjoys being active in her spare time, going to the gym to workout or enjoying the outdoors for a run. She loves gymnastics and gives 100% to her kids she is coaching.

Michelle loves working with kids and previous experience includes running a pre-school with her mother. Her other passion is dogs and she is a full time groomer as well as a dog mom to four beautiful pups. In her spare time you’ll find her in the sun, she loves to camp and travel.

Felicia has been working with children in daycares for 8 years and has a 3-year-old daughter of her own. She enjoys being a positive influence in kids’ lives. In her spare time, Felicia enjoys doing arts and crafts and home décor projects. She spends most of her days with family and can be found volunteering for various events for her niece and nephew. Felicia is a cheerful person with a big heart.
